The work carried out by Solek included the procurement, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of a 64 kWp solar PV system. The system is installed in a grid-tie configuration, thus directly coupled as an embedded generation facility to the 380 Vac network of the Mitchell’s Plain Provincial Hospital.
The system is divided into 6 system modules that are distributed on the roofs of north-facing buildings. This embedded generation facility will reduce the electrical base load of the hospital, resulting in a saving in electricity for the next 25 Years.
