Mitchell’s Plain Provincial Hospital
Project Details:
  • Date: 02 April, 2013
  • Client: Department of Public Works, Western Cape Government

Solek was appointed as a nominated selected subcontractor under the conditions of the JBBCC by Aveng Grinaker LTA. The work carried out by Solek included the procurement, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of a 64 kWp solar PV system. The system is installed in a grid-tie configuration, thus directly coupled as an embedded generation facility to the 380 Vac network of the Mitchell’s Plain Provincial Hospital.

The system is divided into 6 system modules that are distributed on the roofs of north-facing buildings. This embedded generation facility will reduce the electrical base load of the hospital, resulting in a saving in electricity for the next 25 Years.

Details:

Total system power: 64 kWp
Inverters: SMA
Solar Modules: SolarWorld
Mounting: Aluminium, non-penetrating sub-frame
Annual Energy production: <120MWh
