With an average base load of 250kVA, substantial energy savings have been achieved by replacing inefficient lighting with energy efficient technologies at Springbok Superspar.
A preliminary walk-through audit highlighted lighting as a noteworthy energy consumer, especially because of the high load factor. By replacing only the fluorescent tubes and starters, savings of approximately 30% have been achieved. These savings account for more than 20kVA reduction of the base load. After the installation, flux test proved that light levels increased upon installation.
As a value added service, a detailed energy map has been developed along with an action plan to guide further energy efficiency investments.
